The PreTeXt Community
Welcome! We're glad you are here.
We strive to make PreTeXt a welcoming and supportive community. Whether you are an author, instructor, publisher, reader, or developer, we hope you will join our community and help make PreTeXt even better. Here are some ways you can connect with us.
Google groups
The primary "forums" for PreTeXt are hosted through google groups. The support forum is the easiest, quickest, most accurate way to get help from experienced authors, publishers and developers, even if you are just starting out, and have only read the PreTeXt Guide once. We also have groups for occasional announcements, a group for developers, and a group for discussions of accessibility issues
- pretext-support. Best and easiest way to get support.
- pretext-announce. Announcements only, low-volume.
- pretext-dev. Discussions about features and implementation.
- [pretext-a11y]{https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/pretext-a11y}. Accessibility discussions.
Social media
A number of PreTeXt users and developers are active on Bluesky, look for #PreTeXtGang.
Also check out the MathTech.org Discord Server which has channels for PreTeXt and related projects.
Zoom "office hours"
Most weeks we host multiple zoom drop-in office hours to help newcomers and discuss new features and development. Days and times are announced on the pretext-announce group and listed at our calendar
GitHub
Contributions, including issues and pull requests, are welcome for the various PreTeXt project repositories.
Most of the time it is preferable to discuss ideas on the google groups prior to submitting issues/pull requests through github.
